This book provides readers with state-of-the-art knowledge of established and emerging semiconducting materials, their processing, and the fabrication of chips and microprocessors. Applications of semiconductors in electronic devices, chips, and microprocessors are covered in detail, along with the fundamentals of semiconductors and their processing. This book provides the basics and workings of many semiconducting devices and their role in modern electronics. This book also explores emerging semiconductors and their importance in future devices. The future and challenges of many emerging semiconductors are also explored. Microprocessors have emerged as the unsung champions of modern technology in the 21st century, silently but profoundly influencing nearly every aspect of our existence. These minuscule electronic processors, often referred to as central processing units (CPUs), are at the core of a staggering variety of devices, including smartphones, laptops, industrial apparatus, and space-based equipment. Their function and significance in the modern world are nothing short of revolutionary. A microprocessor is, at its core, a semiconductor device that conducts the fundamental computations and data processing duties that power modern technology. It executes a series of instructions, processes data, and manages the different operations necessary for a device to perform its intended function.

The “Basic Course on Arduino” is the gateway to the discovery of the new paradigm due to Industry 4.0. This Course fits perfectly in that new area of teaching that lately, especially internationally, is spreading and in Italy we are just at the beginning. More and more resources are being invested in this, which has now even become a course of study that starts in elementary school until it takes students all the way to graduation. This new area, which encompasses multiple disciplines, is called STEM. Arduino is a kind of small PC, it has a processor (a microcontroller to be exact), memory (like the RAM and Hard Disk of a PC), a motherboard, and connectors for signal inputs and outputs that go to external peripherals which can be sensors, actuator modules such as electric motors, etc. There are different types of boards, depending on certain features, for example, there are boards that already have WiFi module built in, those that have GPS, etc.. among the most popular is the Arduino UNO R.3, a basic development board that can be integrated with any type of module. Because the Arduino project is open source, many other manufacturers have made their own UNO R.3 board. Some manufacturers, seeing the potential of this board, have also developed it further by adding features and making it even easier to use. So many projects can be made with this Maker Development Board, the only limit is our imagination. Using the supplied USB cable, it is possible to connect the Development Board to the USB port of the PC from which the board itself draws the power necessary for its operation and interfaces with the PC to be programmed.

Автор: Orhan Gazi
Издательство: oG Publications
Год: 2024
Страниц: 305
Язык: английский
Формат: epub
Размер: 20.4 MB

In this book, we explain the subject of digital signal processing with MATLAB examples. Digital signal processing has a wide field of study in electronic engineering. MATLAB program is a computer software that offers a wide range of working opportunities in engineering sciences. While preparing this book, we wanted it to be of maximum benefit, not only just providing MATLAB applications on digital signal processing, but also as a good MATLAB tutorial. That's why we prepared the starting chapters of the book as MATLAB tutorial. The MATLAB examples cover the subjects: sampling, spectral domain analysis of samples signals, downsampling, upsampling, interpolation, disctete Fourier transform, analog and digital filter design. In the book, basic MATLAB commands are explained in detail in the first four chapters. These chapters were prepared considering the readers who do not know the MATLAB programming language, want to remember it, or want to reinforce what they know. In the fifth chapter, the basic signals frequently used in the literature are explained in continuous and discrete time form. In the Chapter-6, sampling of continuous time signals is explained. We also covered spectral overlapping, i.e., aliasing problem.

When it comes to microcontrollers, Arduino UNO, Raspberry Pi and MicroBit are used. The MicroBit is probably the least demanding of these, as the software to be written to the MicroBit microcontroller can be written in three main ways, or in blocks as in Scratch. Another commonly used microcontroller is the Arduino UNO from the Arduino series. This microcontroller is similarly available with the Arduino IDE C software, which can be downloaded free of charge. As these microcontrollers are widely used by many people, a lot of information is available on the web, and this information makes them much easier to use. Now, the Raspberry Pi is a bit harder than these two microcontrollers. This is because the Raspberry Pi Pico-specific C software is not immediately available. Therefore, the C language of the Arduino IDE is used to set up a relatively simple execution environment. Unlike the Raspberry Pi, the Raspberry Pi Picoo described in this manual is not a PC, but is treated like an Arduino or MicroBit microcontroller: you write the program on your PC and write the program from your PC to the microcontroller. Writing can be done via USB, so it is easy to operate. The Raspberry Pi Pico W is also Wifi enabled. This allows you to study the IoT. For those who are new to Raspberry Pi Pico, this book explains the programmes and circuits you are likely to use most often, from lighting LEDs to how to control it using Wifi communication. Use this book as a starting point to learn more about the Raspberry Pi Pico.

The book provides a comprehensive exploration of operational amplifiers (op-amps) and their myriad applications in both linear and non-linear circuits. Beginning with a foundational introduction to op-amps, the text delves into linear circuits, followed by an examination of non-linear circuits. The middle sections cover essential topics such as waveform generators, active filters, and data converters. Subsequent chapters expand on the use of op-amps in more complex analog and digital applications, including voltage regulators, analog multipliers, dividers, and the versatile 555 timer circuits. The final chapters focus on the implementation of logic gates, combinational circuits, and flip-flops using op-amps. The appendices offer practical insights through various tutor kits developed by the author and additional resources, making this book an invaluable resource for both students and professionals in the field of electronics. Operational amplifier, also called an op-amp, is an integrated circuit, which can be used to perform various linear, non-linear and mathematical operations. An op-amp is a direct coupled high gain amplifier. You can operate op-amp both with AC and DC signals. Operational amplifiers, or op-amps as they are more commonly called, are one of the basic building blocks of analogue electronic circuits.
