This is one of the few books on Soviet Special Operations Forces (SOF) collectively known as Spetsnaz. This book covers Soviet Army and Navy SOF in excellent detail. This is an older book printed in 1990 being the last book to be printed on the Spetsnaz prior to the end of the Cold War in 1991. The best about this book is that each chapter is written by different authors giving various analyses on the capabilities and operations, without a major western bias.
