The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) (Maori: Te Tauaarangi o Aotearoa,[4] previously Te Hokowhitu o Kahurangi) is the air force component of the New Zealand Defence Force. It was formed from New Zealand elements of the British Royal Air Force, becoming an independent force in 1923, although many RNZAF aircrew continued to serve in the Royal Air Force until the end of the 1940s. The RNZAF fought in World War II, Malaysia, Korean War Vietnam and the Gulf War plus various United Nations peacekeeping missions. From a 1945 peak of over 1,000 combat aircraft the RNZAF has shrunk to a strength of around 51 aircraft in 2016, focusing on maritime patrol and transport duties in support of the Royal New Zealand Navy and the New Zealand Army. The RNZAF's air combat capability ended in 2001 with the disbanding of the A-4 Skyhawk squadrons. The Air Force is led by an air vice-marshal who holds the appointment of Chief of Air Force.
The RNZAF motto is the same as that of the Royal Air Force, Per ardua ad astra, meaning "Through adversity to the stars." | |

Shrouded in secrecy, output from the Chinese aviation industry was, until recently, largely unknown in the West. In the 1950s, when communist China and the Soviet Union were on friendly terms, the Soviet Union assisted in the establishment of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) by delivering combat aircraft and training Chinese personnel. Following the 1960s' rift between Moscow and Beijing, the Chinese authorities set up an indigenous aircraft industry, and as they gained experience, versions of Soviet aircraft started appearing together with their own designs.
Chinese Aircraft provides a full description of all aircraft types including the Shaanxi Y8, the Chengdu JF-17 (FC-1) light fighter, which is now entering service with the Pakistan Air Force, the Shenyang J-10, and the KJ-2000 AWACS aircraft based on the Il'yushin IL-76. La Regia Aeronautica fu una delle tre forze armate, assieme al Regio Esercito e alla Regia Marina, del Regno d'Italia.
Istituita con regio decreto nel 1923, i suoi uomini ebbero un ruolo di primo piano nella cosiddetta "eta dell'oro" dell'aviazione compiendo varie crociere aeree e gareggiando nella Coppa Schneider. La politica estera del regime fascista la vide impegnata nel 1935-1936 nella guerra d'Etiopia e, dal 1936 al 1939, nella guerra civile spagnola dove fu attiva l'Aviazione Legionaria. Successivamente, dal 1940 al 1943, prese parte alla seconda guerra mondiale nel corso della quale, in seguito all'armistizio di Cassibile reso noto l'8 settembre 1943, i suoi uomini si divisero tra l'Aeronautica Cobelligerante, fedele al Regno del Sud, e l'Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, forza armata della Repubblica Sociale Italiana di Benito Mussolini. In seguito alla nascita della Repubblica Italiana ha cambiato nome in Aeronautica Militare. | |
