Яковлев Як-5 (И-28). Опытный истребитель И-28 с двигателем М-105ПД, иначе называвшийся "Як-5 образца 1940 года" (До присвоения И-28 наименования Як-5 в заводских и некоторых других документах он именовался также "самолет N28", И-28-H, И-28-В, И-26В (высотный))., являлся высотным истребителем-перехватчиком и предназначался для использования в системе ПВО.
И-28 спроектировали и построили с 10 июля по 29 октября 1940 г., т.е. за три с половиной месяца. Hа нем был установлен опытный двигатель М-105ПД с нагнетателем Э-100 конструкции В.А.Доллежаля.
По результатам испытаний М-105ПД, проведенных позднее, в феврале-марте 1941 г., его мощность была существенно выше, чем у М-105П. ...

These divisions incurred 28,000 casualties, including 8,000 due to combat exhaustion and rain, mud, sleet, and cold.
