Do your product dashboards look funky? Are your quarterly reports stale? Is the dataset you're using broken or just plain wrong? These problems affect almost every team, yet they're usually addressed on an ad hoc basis and in a reactive manner. If you answered yes to any of the questions above, this book is for you. Many data engineering teams today face the "good pipelines, bad data" problem. It doesn't matter how advanced your data infrastructure is if the data you're piping is bad. In this book, Barr Moses, Lior Gavish, and Molly Vorwerck from the data reliability company Monte Carlo explain how to tackle data quality and trust at scale by leveraging best practices and technologies used by some of the world's most innovative companies.

Learn how to design systems at scale and prepare for system design interviews. System design interviews can be quite open-ended and intimidating as it is a very extensive topic. There can be multiple solutions to even the most basic system design problems. My objective with this book is to help you learn the fundamentals and explore the advanced topics of system design. This will also provide you with a reliable strategy to prepare for system design interviews. System design is the process of defining the architecture, interfaces, and data for a system that satisfies specific requirements. System design meets the needs of your business or organization through coherent and efficient systems. It requires a systematic approach to building and engineering systems. A good system design requires us to think about everything, from infrastructure all the way down to the data and how it's stored.

Формат: pdf (true)
Размер: 14.0 MB

This research book aims to conceptualise the scale and spectrum of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches in energy efficient building design and develop its functional solutions with a focus towards four crucial aspects of building envelop, building layout, occupant behaviour and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. Drawn from the theoretical development on the sustainability, informatics and optimisation paradigms in built environment, the energy efficient building design will be marked through the power of data and BIM intelligent agents during the design phase. It will be further developed via smart derivatives to reach a harmony in the systematic integration of energy efficient building design solutions; a gap which is missed in the extant literature and this book aims to fill that. This approach will inform a vision for future, provide a framework to shape and respond to our built environment and how it transforms the way we design and build. By considering the balance of BIM, AI and energy efficient outcomes, the future development of buildings will be regenerated in a direction that are sustainable in the long run. This book is essential reading for those in the AEC industry as well as computer scientists. This category of BIM, which is adopted into EED, is internally interoperable through utilising the inbuilt information and includes Autodesk GBS, Autodesk Formit 360, Graphisoft EcoDesigner and Bentley AECOsim Energy Simulator.

Introduction to Bioinformatics and Clinical Scientific ComputingНазвание: Introduction to Bioinformatics and Clinical Scientific Computing
Автор: Paul S. Ganney
Издательство: CRC Press

Страниц: 405
Язык: английский
Формат: pdf (true)
Размер: 19.1 MB

This textbook provides an introduction to Computer Science theory, informatics best practice, and the standards and legislation that apply to computing in a healthcare environment. It delivers an accessible discussion of databases (construction, interrogation and maintenance); networking (design and low-level application); programming (best practice rather than the specifics of any one language – design, maintenance, safety). A NoSQL database provides a mechanism for storage and retrieval of data that is modelled in ways other than the tabular relations used in relational databases, “NoSQL” originally referring to “non SQL” or “non-relational” databases. NoSQL systems are also sometimes called “Not only SQL” to emphasise that they may support SQL-like query languages.

Why should you learn Snowflake? Over the last few years, Snowflake has become increasingly popular with data-led organizations and data enthusiasts. Snowflake is a data warehousing and data analysis platform built for the cloud and has been built from scratch to take full advantage of cloud features. It provides several novel features that changes how you work with data platforms. With its increasing popularity, learning Snowflake means you increase your standing in the job market. Even if you are already knowledgeable in one or more data warehousing platforms, understanding Snowflake will give you an edge when searching for a new job or aiming for a promotion. Snowflake does not have a steep learning curve because of its simplicity and its use of SQL as the primary language. Once you have grasped the foundations of Snowflake architecture, the rest of the learning naturally flows. Snowflake offers several certification exams, of which the SnowPro Core certification is the foundational exam.

There are hundreds of way to troubleshoot storage related issues, and this book is not a silver bullet to solve all your problems!. What this book will do is provide you a methodology into troubleshooting scenario’s that as a result of storage relate infrastructure problem either connected to local or SAN attached storage. I will not touch on a few things like for example FCoE from a technology side, as these may divert into a rabbit hole. I may give these technologies more attention in later articles or updated versions of the book. The Linux ecosystem is so diverse and there are so many brands, flavours, colours etc. that it is impossible to touch on each and every single one. From an enterprise perspective there are basically two major players Redhat and SUSE. Yes, yes, I know there is also OEL, Ubuntu, Debian etc etc but I’ll cut off at the first one Redhat or a derivative Centos as well as SUSE.

In the near future, we will see an increase in the development and use of all sorts of AI applications. Some of the more promising areas will be Finance, Healthcare, IoT, Manufacturing, Journalism, and Cybersecurity. Many of these applications generate a great amount of complex information. Natural Language Understanding is one of the most clear examples. Traditional ways of visualizing complex information, namely linear text, web pages and hyperlink-based applications, have serious productivity problems. Users need a lot of time to visualize the information and have problems seeing the whole picture of the results. Mind mapping is probably the only way of reducing the problems inherent in these traditional ways of visualizing complex information. Most people have no clear idea about the advantages of mind mapping or the problems created by the traditional ways of visualizing complex information. The goal of Mind Mapping and Artificial Intelligence is to provide readers with an introduction to mind mapping and Artificial Intelligence, to the problems of using traditional ways of visualizing complex information and as an introduction to mind mapping automation and its integration into Artificial Intelligence applications such as NLU and others.
