Название: An Introduction to Spatial Data Science with GeoDa: Volume 2: Clustering Spatial Data Автор: Luc Anselin Издательство: CRC Press Год: 2024 Страниц: 238 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true) Размер: 34.7 MB
This book is the second in a two-volume series that introduces the field of spatial Data Science. It moves beyond pure data exploration to the organization of observations into meaningful groups, i.e., spatial clustering. This constitutes an important component of so-called Unsupervised Learning, a major aspect of modern Machine Learning. The distinctive aspects of the book are both to explore ways to spatialize classic clustering methods through linked maps and graphs, as well as the explicit introduction of spatial contiguity constraints into clustering algorithms. Leveraging a large number of real-world empirical illustrations, readers will gain an understanding of the main concepts and techniques and their relative advantages and disadvantages. The book also constitutes the definitive user’s guide for these methods as implemented in the GeoDa open source software for spatial analysis. It is organized into three major parts, dealing with dimension reduction (principal components, multidimensional scaling, stochastic network embedding), classic clustering methods (hierarchical clustering, k-means, k-medians, k-medoids and spectral clustering), and spatially constrained clustering methods (both hierarchical and partitioning). It closes with an assessment of spatial and non-spatial cluster properties. |

One of the most influential data visualization books—updated with new techniques, technologies, and examples. Visualize This demonstrates how to explain data visually, so that you can present and communicate information in a way that is appealing and easy to understand. Today, there is a continuous flow of data available to answer almost any question. Thoughtful charts, maps, and analysis can help us make sense of this data. But the data does not speak for itself. As leading data expert Nathan Yau explains in this book, graphics provide little value unless they are built upon a firm understanding of the data behind them. Visualize This teaches you a data-first approach from a practical point of view. You'll start by exploring what your data has to say, and then you'll design visualizations that are both remarkable and meaningful. With this book, you'll discover what tools are available to you without becoming overwhelmed with options. You'll be exposed to a variety of software and code and jump right into real-world datasets so that you can learn visualization by doing. Details tools that can be used to visualize data graphics for reports, presentations, and stories, for the web or for print, with major updates for the latest R packages, Python libraries, jаvascript libraries, illustration software, and point-and-click applications. |

Название: Azure Arc Systems Management: Governance and Administration of Multi-cloud and Hybrid IT Estates Автор: Ramona Maxwell Издательство: Apress Год: 2024 Страниц: 298 Язык: английский Формат: pdf, epub Размер: 10.1 MB
This book is for enterprise and solution architects, systems integrators, and anyone managing enterprise-scale, multi-cloud or hybrid IT landscapes. The book examines usage of Azure Arc for governance and systems management with security as an overarching theme. It is not an implementation manual but provides high-level guidance on best practices and links to detailed guidance. It offers insight into the types of problems that Azure Arc can solve, and will help you determine whether it is the right choice for your organization. Azure Arc is designed to provide a consolidated view of assets such as databases and Kubernetes installations across major cloud providers, edge locations, and customer-owned datacenters. It facilitates deployment of new infrastructure, patching and upgrades, monitoring, policy, and security controls for assets living on-premises or in competitor clouds as if they were native to Azure. While competitive products exist, at this writing none have the flexibility and reach of Arc to effectively manage very large hybrid estates. PostgreSQL, like other technologies covered in this book, owes its existence to Berkeley being a provenience of new computing technologies fostering solutions to some of the biggest data problems in enterprise computing while adhering to an open source model that let the best minds of the IT community test and enhance things like PostgreSQL and Spark. For enterprise and solution architects, systems integrators, and anyone else looking to solve enterprise-scale administration problems across a multi-cloud or hybrid architecture. |

Название: Simulation with Arena, 7th Edition Автор: W. David Kelton, Nancy B. Zupick, Nathan J. Ivey Издательство: McGraw Hill Год: 2024 Страниц: 689 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true) Размер: 21.5 MB
Simulation with Arena provides a comprehensive treatment of simulation using industry-standard Arena software. The textbook begins by having the reader develop simple high-level models, and then progresses to advanced modeling and analysis. Statistical design and analysis of simulation experiments is integrated with the modeling chapters, reflecting the importance of mathematical modeling of these activities. An informal, tutorial writing style is used to aid the beginner in fully understanding the ideas and topics presented. The new edition now reflects Arena version 16.2, which contains many new and useful features. Arena simulation software is a tool to remove the guesswork from decision making and improve processes, efficiencies, work teams, and profitability. It uses 2D and 3D modeling and real world data to simulate various process scenarios and optimize system performance. It uses the SIMAN processor and simulation language. We assume neither prior knowledge of simulation nor computer-programming experience. We do assume basic familiarity with computing in general (files, folders, basic editing operations, etc.), but nothing advanced. A fundamental understanding of probability and statistics is needed. We also assume knowledge of basic derivative and integral calculus. Arena combines the ease of use found in high-level simulators with the flexibility of simulation languages and even all the way down to general-purpose procedural languages like the Microsoft Visual Basic programming system or C if you really want. It does this by providing alternative and interchangeable templates of graphical simulation-modeling and analysis modules that you can combine to build a fairly wide variety of simulation models. For specialized needs, like complex decision algorithms or accessing data from an external application, you can write pieces of your model in a procedural language like Visual Basic or C/C++. |

Название: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) GoldenGate: Real-world Examples Автор: Y V Ravi Kumar, Raghavendra S, Ankur Goel Издательство: Apress Год: 2024 Страниц: 243 Язык: английский Формат: pdf, epub Размер: 13.3 MB
This book focuses on the utilization of GoldenGate Services (GGS) in conjunction with a microservices architecture on the Oracle cloud (OCI), primarily for data migration and integration across various data sources and targets. The book begins with a practical example of utilizing GGS on a Marketplace VM, progressively advancing to in-depth discussions on implementing GoldenGate as a Service on OCI. The book offers illustrative guides for data replication between RDBMSs (such as Oracle, Postgres, and big data targets such as Kafka). Additionally, it explores monitoring techniques using Enterprise Manager and Grafana dashboards. A comparative analysis is presented between traditional VM-based GoldenGate installations and the OCI service model. Special attention is given to Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) and leveraging GGS for database migration from on-premises to OCI. Some chapters address multi-cloud replication using OCI GGS and include real-life case studies. By the end of this book you will have gained comprehensive insights into the architectural design of GoldenGate Services and will be adept at replicating data using GGS, enabling you to replicate setups in your own environments. Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) is a software solution for real-time data integration and replication. It allows organizations to capture, transform, and move transactional data from one database to another, across different platforms and data environments, with minimal latency and impact on system performance. This ensures that databases remain synchronized, facilitating high availability, data migration, and real-time analytics. |
