This book introduces the latest processing technologies for a variety of materials in advanced manufacturing and applications. Design criteria and considerations of processing or devices are theoretically introduced, and numerical simulation and experimental study are included.
Smartphone chips, biomedical devices, and electrical actuators are common concepts and application examples that need creation of certain “materials” to realize. In other words, these need advanced manufacturing to achieve high accuracy, high value-added target, and high performance. For this end, advanced material processing technologies need to be developed. To improve the productivity of advanced manufacturing, wireless sensor network with an innovative design of the antenna is important to conduct machining processing data transmission and real-time monitoring of intelligence manufacturing and machining process optimization.
Putting emphasis on the cutting-edge material processing technologies, advanced high-precision positioning actuators, and industrial wireless sensors in advanced manufacturing, this book introduces various latest processing technologies from hard material to soft material, from metal to composite in advanced manufacturing and applications. Design criteria and considerations of processing or devices are theoretically introduced, and numerical simulation and experimental study are also included. The reader will be able to understand which processing technology is suitable for a special material and understand the design rules in the applications after he/she grasps the knowledge in this book.
There are a total of 8 chapters in the book. Chapter 1 focuses on Advanced Manufacturing of Hard Magnetic Materials, Chapter 2 on Advanced Manufacturing of Flexible Piezoelectric Arrays, Chapter 3 on Application and Research Trends of These Arrays, Chapter 4 on Manufacturing of Carbon Fibers, and Chapter 5 on Laser Microprocessing of sapphire. This book also covers additive manufacturing, which is described in Chapter 6 on Metals and Chapter 7 on Lattice Structures. Finally, Chapter 8 touches on Advanced Manufacturing for Wearable Applications.
